Threads 127: The great move
Breaking news...
Last week on Wednesday, the Basketry Museum moved to a new home, at the Middleville and District Museum, just northeast of Lanark Village. It was a major event with much help from the volunteers to move the collection along with the exhibition stands. Many thanks to all of the volunteers who helped us move the boxes, baskets and bits and pieces. It was sad to see it go, but lovely to find such a welcoming new home.
This seasons scheduled workshops will continue to be hosted in McDonalds Corners either at the Museum or MERA Schoolhouse.
The Middleville and District Museum opens for the season on Sunday, May 17, 12 - 4pm, with an opening day tea http://www.middlevillemuseum.org/
To celebrate the move, Middleville Museum will highlight the Lanark Highland Basketry Museum at their annual Strawberry Social on Sunday, June 28th at the Middleville Museum. Come and make a strawberry pottle and enjoy some strawberries.
If you're wondering what a pottle is, you can read about them here.
Let's make it a fun party and see you at the Strawberry Social! Keep an eye on the website for more details.
