Threads 62: Another basket made of recycled material
I have always rather enjoyed the purple cardboard packaging used in the Whiskers cat food.
This gave me the idea of cutting the packaging into long ½ inch strips and using them in one of my wastepaper baskets.
In order to control the shape, I used number three round reed for pairing in between each cardboard row.
When using recycled cardboard that is short in length, I found it easier to glue a couple of cardboard strips together to lengthen them. This simplifies weaving and helps maintain the shape of the basket.
